On 1 April 2026, the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS) officially started. With more than 1,000 reverse vending machines (RVMs) now stationed in housing estates, supermarkets, and public spaces, the focus has shifted from policy planning to the actual user experience. On 2 April 2026, Rémi Cesaro, Founder and Executive Director of Zero Waste City, was invited on CNA938 Rewind, to discussed with the host, Daniel Martin, the initial days of the scheme’s implementation.
