Why engage us?

Navigate Regulatory Complexity

The regulation defines numerous inclusions and exclusions in the reporting of packaging. Based on our experience and deep understanding of the regulation, our consultants help determine what your company is responsible for reporting and its precise reporting obligations.

Streamline Reporting Efforts

Companies with many products or complex operations may struggle with accurately quantifying reportable packaging and conducting large-scale packaging assessment. Leverage on our cross-industry experience in MPR submissions to identify the most effective methodology and ensure traceable data collection and calculation.

Optimise Your Resources

Robust data gathering is required in MPR submissions. We step in as your dedicated MPR compliance team, efficiently managing the collection, aggregation, and validation of data, minimising the strain on your internal staff and time.

Frequently Asked Questions

“Packaging” means any material or combination of materials used for the containment, protection, handling, delivery or presentation of any goods. Note that several exclusions apply such as reusable packaging or packaging used for transportation in bulk whereby such packaging does not need to be reported. Contact us to know more.

Obligated producers will have to report the quantity of packaging supplied to Singapore per form and material. The quantities must be reported using a prescribed template by the NEA.

The 3R Plan refers to an activity that the company commits to undertake over the next 1-3 years to improve packaging or improve the communication around best practices (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). It must contain at least one of the following improvement plans:

  • packaging reduction;
  • collect packaging for re-use;
  • collect packaging for recycling;
  • engage and educate consumers on the reduction, re-use or recycling of packaging;
  • engage and educate any industry sector on the reduction, re-use or recycling of packaging;
  • use recycled content in packaging material;
  • improve the recyclability of packaging used.

If you engage us to lead the complete MPR project, then the answer is ‘yes’. We will prepare all the necessary reports and supporting documentation for the submission to the NEA.

When engaged, it is our role to ensure that your company will be complying with NEA rules. Hence, during the MPR project, we may reach out to the NEA to confirm the reportability of certain packaging items.

Separately, the NEA may conduct a verification of your past MPR submissions. If we led such MPR submission, we will assist you during the verification process. If corrections must be made, we will do so at no additional cost (it is our role to get it right the first time).

Yes, whenever relevant. As we are based in Singapore we can facilitate a site visit to your facility. Such site visit may include

  • organising a meeting with the operation and procurement teams to determine the tools we can use to monitor packaging usage,
  • conducting a walk-through to observe products and ensure that we have captured all packaging items,
  • weighing product packaging and verifying its material composition.

Yes, if relevant. We own a calibrated high-precision scale that we can use to weigh packaging materials. The measurement can then be used to prepare the data report.
